Example Engagements
Domestic Bank – “We currently provide acquiring services only in our home country. We want to expand internationally.&nbs What do we need to do to accomplish this? What options should we consider? What are the risks and rewards?”
Commercial Bank – “We have a growing portfolio of commercial banking clients. It seems like a natural extension of this is to offer bankcard acceptance to these clients as part of our overall cash management and treasury services. Will this really enhance the relationships? Would acquiring services be incremental or dilutive to profit margins? What other ways can this be delivered?”
Problem Bank – “Our merchant portfolio has grown well in the last two years. The card schemes have contacted us due to excessive chargebacks and are asking for corrective action plans. Without reducing our chargebacks, we will incur significant fines and potentially face the loss of our Acquiring rights. Where do we begin?”
Government – “We want to begin collecting tax and other payments by credit cards. Where do we begin?”
New Opportunities Bank – “We’ve been approached by a few PSPs and ISOs to market our Acquiring services. Are these good opportunities? How can we evaluate them? If we proceed, how should we manage those relationships?”
Growing Merchant – “Our business is growing but we’ve not put much effort into managing the payment acceptance process. What are the key areas we need to address? How should we organize and staff to get the most out of our service provider?”
New Merchant or Start Up – “Being new to accepting card payments we don’t understand the process very well. How can we get educated on the industry, networks, card schemes and specific areas we need to manage?”
ePayments Start Up – “We have some great ideas and technology that can change the payment landscape. Will they work? How can we insure they will be fit for purpose?”
