San
Sebastian

Visiting the Basque region was on our bucket list for a while,
so in October 2025, off we went to San Sebastian, Spain.
It sits on the Bay of Biscay, at the western edge of the
Pyrenees Mountains, just 25 km west of France.
San
Sebastian
The Basque region is bilingual with use of Spanish and
Basque. 'Donostia" is the Basque word for San Sebastian.
The city is one of the best known tourist destinations in Spain
and is renowned for its Basque cuisine.
It's main economy is commerce and tourism.
We were told it is the wealthiest town in Spain, on a per capita
basis.
The San Sebastian bay is shaped like a sea shell.

Cathedral of the
Good Shepard
This
exceptional cathedral is a main attraction of the city.
Including the spire, it stands 100 meters/ 328 feet tall and can
sit 4,000 people.

The cathedral has nightly light shows inside that were
fabulous.
Here are a few images....just wish wine had been served.
